JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Enrollment Services for Adelphi University's New York City Center provides strategic and operational leadership in all areas related to student enrollment. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President and Chief Enrollment Officer, this role is responsible for the development and execution of enrollment plans that support the University's mission, with a particular focus on serving adult learners, graduate students, and transfer populations. The Director will lead recruitment, admissions, financial aid coordination, and enrollment operations at the NYC center and collaborate with leadership to optimize student outreach, improve conversion rates, and enhance the overall student experience.

SALARY INFORMATION:

In compliance with New York's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $105,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.

REPORTS TO: Assistant Vice President and Chief Enrollment Officer

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. Develop and implement strategic enrollment initiatives tailored to the NYC center, supporting University-wide goals for growth and access.
  2. Provide direction for all NYC center recruitment and admissions activities in collaboration with academic leadership
  3. Collaborate with marketing and academic departments to align NYC center goals with broader University priorities.
  4. In partnership with Institutional Research analyze data to monitor enrollment trends, develop recruitment forecasts, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  5. Build relationships with community colleges, high schools, and workforce development agencies in the NYC area.
  6. Coordinate with One-Stop Student Services to ensure timely and accurate processing of aid packages and communication with students.
  7. Represent Adelphi University at community events, fairs, and school visits in the NYC region.
  8. Provide direction in NYC-specific marketing and outreach efforts, including collaboration on digital campaigns, email communications, and center events.
  9. Participate in University-wide committees and strategic planning efforts related to enrollment.
  10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state, regional, and national enrollment trends and regulations.
  11. Support student onboarding and transition processes in collaboration with academic and student service units.
  12. Manage center-specific enrollment budgets, including event planning, travel, and outreach expenses.
  13. Coordinate with One-Stop Student Services and Office of Academic Services and Retention to streamline the student enrollment experience.
  14. Perform other job related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  1. Strong knowledge of enrollment management best practices and strategic planning.
  2. Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and achieve enrollment goals.
  3. Experience with CRM systems (Technolutions Slate preferred) and data analytics tools.
  4. Deep understanding of recruitment for transfer, adult, and graduate student populations.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access in higher education.
  6. Strong interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
  7. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for recruitment and outreach events.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred.
  2. Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in admissions, enrollment, or related higher education role is required.
  3. Experience working in an urban or branch campus or center setting is strongly preferred.
  4. Familiarity with New York City regional education systems and community networks.
