Our client is seeking a dynamic software engineering leader who has the following background: modern tech stack, offshore leadership, 5+ years of startup/series B funded growth and executive level presence to guide their owners. The organization is a Software-as-a-Service ("SaaS") solution that helps healthcare be effective and enables their customers to automate outbound text and phone messages to patients. The goal is to provide a scalable experience leveraging existing technology investments to truly optimize workflows.
About the Role:
Seeking an accomplished and visionary VP of Software Engineering to lead the product and engineering strategy. Poised for rapid growth, you will collaborate with the existing management team to drive and support the company's ambitious growth strategy. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of success within Private Equity portfolio companies, bringing deep expertise in SaaS, data analytics/reporting, platform development, DevOps, and AI/ML-driven tools.
This is a high-impact executive role that blends strategic leadership with technical depth and product vision. You will oversee product management, engineering, data, and technology operations, ensuring our solutions scale, differentiate and delivering measurable customer value.
Technically:
- Lead the technology strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and platform growth objectives
- Oversee the engineering function, ensuring delivery excellence, code quality, DevOps maturity, and agile velocity
- Leverage AI/ML to enhance engineering productivity, including code generation and automation
- Build and scale a high-performance global team, including offshore development partners, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery
- Engage with the Board and Private Equity stakeholders on tech KPIs and platform risk
Qualifications:
- Work to set up and lead off shore teams and travel overseas once a month or when needed
- 10+ years of progressive leadership in Engineering and technology roles, ideally with C-suite
- Proven success in PE-backed environments; understands the urgency, accountability, and value-creation models expected
- Deep expertise in SaaS product development, platform engineering, DevOps, and data/analytics architecture
- Strong grasp of AI/ML applications in product and engineering – from intelligent features to coding copilots
- Track record of building and leading offshore engineering teams and managing hybrid global product organizations
- Strong communicator and executive presence; able to inspire internal teams and instill confidence in investors and partners
- Nice to have experience in healthcare technology
- Develop a highly performant engineering operating model and SDLC following Agile methodologies, processes, and best practices
- Work with architects to define and drive technical strategies, build-buy-partner frameworks and key modernization initiatives to improve performance and scalability of products
- Evolve a distributed engineering organization including driving talent acquisition to expand in-house technical resources
- Ensure that technical & security requirements are clearly articulated and integrated into the product roadmap
- Deliver risk assessment, management, and mitigation plans associated with ongoing product releases
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of senior software engineering/technology management experience
- Experience building & scaling remote Software Engineering & CloudOps teams
- Strong technical background with at least one of the following: PHP, Python or NodeJS
- Ability to develop impactful QA/test automation strategies & plans
- Deep knowledge of modern cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Experience managing technology vendors and IT service providers
- Proven track record of managing technical debt and modernization initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the HealthTech space or with regulatory & compliance platforms
- Experience managing complex, workflow-based software platforms
- Knowledge of modern serverless cloud architectures
