About Our Client: Addison Group is conducting a confidential search on behalf of our client, a rapidly growing reverse logistics company. The organization specializes in large-scale product returns, palletized shipments, and end-to-end supply chain services. With the relocation of their headquarters to the Phoenix metro area, they are looking for a dynamic and experienced HR professional to lead all human resources efforts.

Job Description

This is a standalone HR leadership role for someone ready to take ownership of the entire human resources function. You'll handle everything from recruiting and onboarding to payroll and compliance, while helping to build and influence the company culture in a new headquarters environment. The ideal candidate is a generalist with multi-state experience and the ability to wear many hats as the company continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all HR operations including onboarding, benefits, payroll, employee relations, and compliance
  • Serve as a key advisor to management and warehouse leadership teams
  • Provide training and guidance to managers on interviewing and hiring best practices
  • Ensure HR policies are compliant with federal and multi-state employment laws
  • Administer payroll processes, particularly for hourly employees across different states
  • Support recruiting initiatives and workforce planning
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve compensation, benefits, and performance systems

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of generalist HR experience, preferably in a standalone HR role
  • Experience supporting hourly workforces; warehousing or logistics a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of multi-state HR compliance
  • Payroll administration experience required; multi-state exposure preferred
  • SHRM certification preferred, but not required
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now helpful (not required – training provided)
  • Comfortable acting as the HR department of one
  • Must be highly resourceful, self-driven, and confident navigating change

Additional Details

  • Reports to the Controller and VP
  • Current office is in Phoenix (lease ends Feb 2026); relocation planned to Glendale or Goodyear
  • Office hours: Monday–Friday, flexible between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; early email response needed to support East Coast operations
  • No bonus currently, but company is open to exploring future bonus structures and tenure-based increases
