Pay: $100-135K plus bonus DOE, medical, dental, vision, 401K match

We are working with our client to fill their AWS Cloud Engineer. This role is responsible for designing, securing, and maintaining the company's cloud environments to ensure they are stable, secure, and scalable. The individual will define cloud architecture, security posture, and operational standards while ensuring systems run smoothly as the environment grows. The organization is primarily Azure-focused today but is actively expanding into AWS and already had a small footprint.
Key Expectations
- Ability to step in on day one with high-level AWS expertise.
- Serve as the AWS subject-matter expert and knowledge leader.
- Train and upskill the existing team on AWS best practices.
- Help establish a robust AWS security and operational posture.
- Lead AWS strategy, implementation, and long-term roadmap.
- Day-to-day responsibilities may evolve as the AWS environment matures.
Technical Depth Required
- Deep, hands-on experience beyond standing up an EKS cluster or deploying basic workloads.
- Strong expertise in:
- AWS security, IAM, permissions, and access controls
- Networking and foundational AWS services
- Account structure, governance, and best practices
- Experience building AWS environments from scratch, including creating the initial AWS account and foundational architecture.
Required:
- 10+ years in IT
- 5+ years of AWS (need to be working in AWS currently)
