Take charge from the previous shift, ensuring seamless operations. Prepare and distribute daily vessel operation reports, including recent loading and discharge figures.
Monitor stevedoring operations, taking corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with backup personnel to ensure uninterrupted operations and efficient resource allocation, including labor, equipment, operators, and dumpers.
Manage berthing schedules and appoint necessary stevedoring and surveying services. Liaise with vessel officials, agents, transporters, and other stakeholders to coordinate vessel operations effectively.
Conduct toolbox talks with contract labor and operators, maintain accurate headcounts, and ensure adherence to safety norms, including the use of certified lifting equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Conduct safety briefings, ensure the use of personal protective equipment, and maintain accurate headcounts. Control spillage and uphold housekeeping standards on the jetty and work areas.
Control operational expenses to prevent financial losses and implement cost-saving strategies.
Prepare and maintain essential documentation, including logbooks, protest letters, stowage certificates, and completion certificates.
Assess key performance indicators, promote a culture of continuous improvement, and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of stevedoring operations.
