Vice President Of Sales (North America) - Nutrition & Otc Distribution

As VP of Sales for our Nutrition & OTC division, you will lead and scale our global ingredient distribution business for our distributed and manufactured products with a primary focus on nutritional ingredients. You will own full P&L accountability, craft and execute growth strategies, and build upon a high-performing sales organization. Working collaboratively with executive leadership, operations, supply chain, and marketing teams, you will drive revenue growth, open new markets, and ensure profitable expansion of our product offerings.

This is a senior leadership role — you'll define the direction of the business unit, make product and partnership decisions, mentor your team, and play a key role in shaping the future of our Nutrition platform.

Responsibilities Will Include:

Strategic Leadership & Business Growth

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive business and go-to-market strategy for the Nutrition division.
  • Identifying and pursuing new market opportunities — including new customer segments, geographies, and distribution channels (distributors, direct accounts, international expansion).
  • Leading annual, quarterly, and monthly business planning, forecasting, and P&L oversight.
  • Evaluating and deciding on product portfolio mix, pricing strategy, and partnership plans.

Sales & Commercial Execution

  • Building, leading, and inspiring a robust sales organization; defining territories, quotas, and performance metrics.
  • Overseeing key accounts, distributor relationships, and strategic partnerships; leading contract negotiations and major deals.
  • Collaborating with supply chain, quality, product development, and marketing teams to ensure alignment of product positioning, regulatory compliance, and go-to-market execution.
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor actions, customer feedback, and distributor survey data.

Organizational Development & Team Leadership

  • Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and developing account managers, and support staff.
  • Creating and implementing performance management systems: set goals, track KPIs, evaluate performance, coach and mentor staff for growth and development.
  • Developing talent pipelines, succession plans, and training strategies to build a high-performing, scalable sales force.
  • Fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, professional development, and results-oriented execution.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Participating actively as a member of the leadership team; contributing to corporate strategic planning and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Working closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Marketing to ensure integrated execution across the value chain.
  • Representing the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and with key external stakeholders.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, safety/quality standards, and distribution regulations (e.g. FDA or other regulatory bodies, where applicable).
  • Overseeing risk assessment for new product lines, market entry, investments, and partnerships; develop mitigation plans.

The salary range for the position of VP, Sales $220,000 - $260,000 USD per year. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity and other factors as permitted by law.

Required Experience & Knowledge

  • BS or MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related scientific field preferred; MBA or equivalent advanced business education also preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years' progressive experience in nutraceuticals, specialty ingredients, chemicals, or related distribution/industrial ingredients industry; with significant exposure to B2B distribution and ingredient markets.
  • Proven track record in sales leadership with full P&L responsibility, strategic planning, and executing profitable growth — ideally with demonstrated success in ingredient distribution of nutraceuticals.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, supply-chain dynamics, and global distribution networks.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical skills, financial acumen, and data-driven decision-making capability.
  • Exceptional leadership presence – ability to build vision, inspire and motivate teams, and lead cross-functional execution.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills — with clients, distributors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; results-oriented, decisive, accountable, and willing to "lead from the front."
  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and mentor high-performing teams; experience with talent pipeline development and organizational scaling.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and business ethics — trusted by internal teams and external partners alike.
