At Actionstep, we're pioneers in SaaS Legal Practice Management software, supporting more than 40,000 users globally across the USA, Australia, UK, Canada, and New Zealand. Our platform empowers law firms to work smarter, operate more efficiently, and focus on what they do best — being lawyers.
Our Sales Team builds strong, trusted relationships that drive business growth. While Account Executives bring legal and operational insight, our Technical Solutions Engineers bring deep platform expertise — configuring, integrating, and proving how Actionstep delivers technically and strategically for mid-to-large law firms.
We're now looking for a Brisbane-based Technical Solutions Engineer to partner closely with our ANZ Sales team and Regional VP.
The Opportunity
As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you'll act as the technical authority within the sales process. You'll translate business and operational requirements into tailored solution designs, configure sophisticated demonstration environments, and validate complex integrations through Proof of Concept phases.
You'll work at the intersection of Sales, Product, and Engineering — ensuring that Actionstep's platform is positioned credibly, configured accurately, and proven technically in complex buying environments.
This is a highly consultative, technically hands-on role suited to someone who thrives on solution design, integration architecture, and stakeholder engagement at senior levels.
The Role
Partner with Account Executives to translate operational requirements into scalable technical solution designs.
Configure tailored demo and POC environments, including workflows, automations, templates, and integrations.
Lead technical discovery conversations and confidently present platform capabilities to IT, Finance, Operations, and Practice Management stakeholders.
Design and demonstrate integrations with systems such as iManage, NetDocuments, Microsoft 365, financial platforms, and reporting tools.
Provide API-level guidance and architectural insight into platform extensibility, security, data residency, and compliance.
Support data migration planning, mapping, validation, and reconciliation from legacy practice management systems.
Contribute to technical RFP/RFI responses, documenting configuration, integration, and feasibility requirements.
Maintain clear documentation of solution designs, recurring technical requirements, and identified product gaps.
Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to validate integration scope and extend platform functionality where required.
Continuously identify improvements to technical sales processes, collateral, and cross-functional collaboration.
Who You Are:
Technically credible and confident explaining complex solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Commercially aware, understanding how technical validation influences deal progression.
Resilient and adaptable in fast-moving, multi-stakeholder environments.
Detail-oriented, yet strategic in how you design scalable solutions.
Collaborative by nature, thriving in cross-functional teams while owning your domain expertise.
