A VA Organization located in Helena, MT and Fort Harrison, MT is currently looking for Medical Assistants who will be responsible for assuring optimum quality control, coordination of activities, and scheduling policies, procedures, and metrics to be achieved. The Medical Assistants will be responsible for the performance and coordination of appointment scheduling, data entry, patient information gathering, and more.
Position: Medical Support Assistant (MSA Scheduler / Receptionist)
Pay: $21.02/hr. / $43,822/yr. (Max pay, no room for negotiation)
Location: Helena, MT or Fort Harrison, MT (100% Onsite)
Shift: Standard Morning Shift Monday – Friday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM MST)
2 Year Contract
Works with Lead Scheduler to achieve all patient communications are completed on time and appropriately.
Coordinates and authorizes Veteran care with community providers that the organization does not supply or cannot supply timely.
Communicates with internal medical providers on rules and regulations for VA Community Care and advises on appropriate processes.
Validates and update patient demographic information.
When records are received, the incumbent will ensure that all necessary health/administrative information are processed to be integrated into Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA).
Properly processes community care consults via HealthShare Referral Manager (HSRM) and Provider Profile Management System (PPMS) systems and/or other systems as needed.
Screens/receives phone calls in a courteous and timely manner.
Responds to telephone inquiries regarding delivery of services.
Daily computer use of Microsoft office products to include Excel, Word, Outlook & Microsoft Teams.
Perform appointment scheduling, tracking, pre and post-appointments contacts as required.
The contractor performs quality customer service for all patients; patient families; VA Staff, contractors, physicians, fellows, residents.
Must reside within 50 mile radius of Helena, MT.
2+ years of experience (administrative capacity, healthcare, scheduling, coordinating, etc.).
Computer proficiency.
50 WPM preferred.
Basic medical terminology or industry experience preferred.
Comfortable with information collection, data entry, and providing exceptional patient services.
Comfortable with scheduling and coordinating.
Comfortable working 100% onsite.
Comfortable submitting to a drug test upon hire.
Comfortable to learn new internal healthcare software.
High school diploma or GED.
The pay range for this position is $21.02 - $21.02/hr.
