Test Engineer (5th Shift)

With limited supervision, you will design, develop, and maintain test procedures, tester hardware, and software for electronic circuit board production. You will collaborate with cross-functional peers on projects involving different customers, reviewing circuit board designs for testability requirements, and supporting manufacturing with failure analysis, tester debugging, and reduction of intermittent failures and downtime of test equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare recommendations for testing and documentation of procedures to be used from the product design phase through to initial production.
  • Generate reports and analysis of test data, and prepare documentation and recommendations.
  • Review test equipment designs, data, and RMA issues with customers regularly.
  • Design and lead engineering and technical personnel in the fabrication of testing and test control apparatus and equipment.
  • Direct and coordinate engineering activities concerned with the development, procurement, installation, and calibration of instruments, equipment, and control devices required to test, record, and reduce test data.
  • Determine conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.
  • Direct and exercise control over operational, functional, and performance phases of tests.
  • Perform moderately complex assignments of the engineering test function for standard and/or custom applications and interpret test data and prepare technical reports for use by test engineering and management.
  • Perform semi-routine technique development and maintenance, subject to established standards, including ISO and QS development standards.
  • Provide training in new procedures to production testing staff.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by the supervisor.
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in developing test plans and test development.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and C#.
  • Experience in electrical or electronic engineering.
  • Ability to build and create test benches and understand schematics.
  • Experience in electronics and hardware testing.
  • Capability to understand test scripts and make modifications as needed.
  • Skill in solving random failures through interrogation of test logs, software, physical measurement, and visual identification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • 1-2 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a manufacturing-related industry.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Linux is a plus.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of DOE and data gathering to resolve ongoing failure trends.

This role is in a contract manufacturing environment, where you will work with advanced testing equipment and collaborate with diverse teams to ensure high-quality production processes. The position requires adherence to safety standards and company policies.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
