Systems Engineering Lead

As a Systems Engineering Lead, you will partner with the Systems Engineering Manager to spearhead system-level engineering activities across the LDN program. You will provide technical leadership in the integration of spacecraft subsystems, ensuring compliance with customer needs, mission objectives, and NASA standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead system-level engineering activities across the LDN program.
  • Provide technical leadership in integrating spacecraft subsystems, including mobility, avionics, energy management, sensors, controls, software, and communications.
  • Conduct requirements analysis and ensure alignment with customer needs and NASA standards.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture, interface definitions, and integration plans.
  • Lead verification and validation planning and execution for system requirements and performance.
  • Identify and manage technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and drive issues to closure.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure subsystem interoperability.
  • Generate and maintain technical documentation, including requirements and test procedures.
  • Represent systems engineering in design reviews and technical meetings.
  • Mentor junior systems engineers and support the continuous improvement of systems engineering processes.

Essential Skills:

  • 10+ years in systems engineering.
  • Experience with spacecraft/satellite systems.
  • Proficiency in requirements analysis, system architecture, and integration for aerospace programs.
  • Understanding of NASA standards and satellite communication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with systems engineering in aerospace.
  • Knowledge of lunar and aerospace systems.
  • Skills in verification, validation, and requirements gathering.

Work Environment:

You will work as a lead on a small team of about 5-10 members, collaborating closely with the LDN program team. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative aerospace projects in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
