Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer will collaborate closely with software, hardware, and mechanical engineering departments to ensure the successful design and delivery of lunar products. This role involves working directly with customers to define requirements and compiling design and interface specifications. The Systems Engineer will support the project development phase with a focus on requirements, design, and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Define, control, and execute all processes necessary for a successful design.
• Derive product and system requirements from customer specifications.
• Lead requirement definition and manage requirements for Earth observation, lunar, and satellite projects.
• Engage in risk management and collaborate with hardware and software teams.

Essential Skills

• 5 years of Systems Engineering experience with space products.
• Proficiency in requirements management and documentation writing.
• Experience in requirements definition and risk management.
• Strong working knowledge of software, hardware, and other engineering disciplines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• ITAR compliance.
• Experience in new product development.
• Space flight experience.
• Familiarity with design tools such as Jama.

Work Environment

This role offers the opportunity to design products that will quickly be launched into space. You will work in a smaller team, allowing for involvement in the full product life cycle. The environment currently has more programs than engineers, and products are customized per program/customer, including lunar and Mars missions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
