Senior Systems/Certification Engineer
Imagine being a critical contributor on programs for major aircraft manufacturers. We are seeking engineers passionate about innovating, testing, and designing new products in the Aerospace and Defense industry. The role involves being a subject matter expert, technical lead, and customer interface on programs involving the design of electronic systems for targeted aircraft. This position is integral to new product development teams, focusing on flight-critical systems such as data converters, fuel flow management systems, and advanced sensors/systems.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary customer interface on technical topics.
- Create derived system requirements, monitoring and built-in test functions for implementation in hardware and software.
- Utilize DOORS requirements tracing tool and other necessary tools to meet program milestones.
- Participate in proposal efforts, derive technical solutions, and document the technical approach for proposals.
- Submit cost and schedule estimates for product upgrades, improvements, or development.
- Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
- Create, execute, and track project schedules and technical customer deliverables.
- Execute the analysis, design, test, and integration required to define and support assigned products or systems.
- Coordinate with all relevant engineering functions including digital and analog circuit design, mechanical design, component engineering, reliability, software design, and certification testing.
- Provide engineering expertise in the maintenance and support of legacy products.
- Support the development of documentation necessary for FAA certification and new product release.
Essential Skills
- MS or BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 5 years' experience with avionic system design and development or related.
- Understanding of embedded software and/or hardware engineering.
- Experience with aircraft systems, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RTCA DO-178 / DO-254, DOORS, MIL-STD-461 / MIL-STD-810 / DO-160.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
- Demonstrated ability to work on a team with other departments to meet organizational and customer needs.
- Demonstrated time management and project management skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with brushless DC motors and/or third-party Apple accessories is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of DOORS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is desired.
Work Environment
This position is 100% on-site at our Eden Prairie, MN location. The role is situated within a high-tech aerospace environment, focusing on innovation and collaboration.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
