Supplier Quality Engineer

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be instrumental in defining, developing, and executing processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality and reliable precision mechanical parts and sub-assemblies for our aerial drone products and core technology. You will engage closely with our design teams and suppliers to meet quality requirements, focusing on precision machining and forming technologies to achieve design intent. Collaboration and clarity in partnering with suppliers are essential to achieving world-class results across the supply chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with design teams to support the design development process and provide feedback for manufacturability.
  • Drive supplier quality development processes throughout product development stages, including design reviews, prototyping, and qualification for components.
  • Review supplier processes, equipment, and capabilities to ensure alignment with mechanical and sub-assembly requirements.
  • Collaborate with development engineering, product quality engineering, and sourcing teams to deliver predictable supply to development and production programs.
  • Drive supplier quality readiness by analyzing critical characteristics, developing measurement systems, and conducting supplier qualification activities.
  • Collaborate with Category Management and Sourcing Engineering to enhance supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, delivery, and strategic goals.
  • Own the elimination of supplier risk and improve quality and reliability across the product lifecycle through audits and readiness reviews.
  • Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities, driving resolutions for fitment issues.
  • Review supplier effectiveness and share lessons learned across the product team.

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or 5 to 8 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, Supplier process development, or Manufacturing Engineering in precision part manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of design review and supplier quality management of PCBA, harnessing, mechanical structures, and systems integration.
  • Familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001-based Quality Management Systems and AS9100 Lead/Internal Auditor Certification is a plus.
  • Experience performing First Article Inspection to AS9102 Industry Standard.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive projects from start to completion.
  • Analytical skills for data mining, data quality, and statistical analysis tools such as MatLab, JMP, and MiniTab.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with aerospace, aviation, and defense suppliers is a plus.
  • Knowledge of product development methodologies like FMEA, APQP, and PPAP.
  • Experience with government regulations such as ITAR.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to suppliers and manufacturing locations.

Work Environment:

This role may require up to 50% travel. The work environment is dynamic, engaging, and requires close collaboration with design and supplier teams to achieve high standards of quality and reliability.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $134000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
