Supplier Quality Engineer

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing commodity-specific business plans to ensure that suppliers exceed all corporate launch quality, capacity, warranty metrics, and vehicle delivery goals. You will lead cross-functional decisions with leadership to drive resolution of open issues and implement actions to ensure zero vehicle losses from suppliers. Your role will include being the principal for on-site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations, and driving adherence to company standards. You will also drive assessment validation of manufacturing feasibility at identified supplier sites and execute the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP).

Responsibilities:

• Implement commodity-specific business plans to ensure suppliers exceed corporate quality metrics.
• Lead cross-functional decisions to resolve open issues with supplier leadership.
• Implement actions to prevent vehicle losses from suppliers.
• Serve as principal for on-site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations.
• Drive adherence to company standards.
• Assess and validate manufacturing feasibility at supplier sites.
• Execute the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP).
• Utilize data metrics and business plans to drive future sourcing decisions for improved quality.

Essential Skills:

• Bachelor of Science/Engineering or equivalent technical/manufacturing aptitude.
• Proficiency in Quality Management and PPAP processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP).

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Electronics knowledge.
• Supplier quality engineering expertise.

Work Environment:

The role involves on-site visits to supplier locations for troubleshooting and corrective actions. There are no specific safety training, licensing, or personal protection requirements mentioned. The work environment adheres to company standards and involves driving assessment validation at supplier sites.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Dearborn, MI.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
