Supplier Quality Engineer (Rolled Steel)

This role requires a strong knowledge of quality control techniques akin to automotive practices and TS standards. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to implement change effectively. The position involves working closely with suppliers and construction project managers to ensure product quality requirements are met from new product introduction through production and installation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with suppliers and construction project managers to ensure product quality requirements are met.
  • Provide prompt attention to emerging field issues to contain them at project sites and supplier facilities.
  • Validate containment and root cause for quality issues, ensuring corrective actions are effective.
  • Report back to headquarters weekly, escalating critical concerns that require immediate action.

Essential Skills

  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Process improvement and quality assurance expertise
  • Experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
  • Document verification and process validation
  • Production feedback and CPK analysis
  • Proficiency in Arena QMS
  • Supplier audit and analysis
  • ISO 9001 and ISO audit experience
  • Root cause analysis and supplier quality management
  • Knowledge of ASTM Steel standards
  • Fluency in Mandarin

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in quality control for steel manufacturing, aerospace, or automotive industries
  • Experience in leading ISO audits and managing supplier quality
  • Strong organizational and documentation management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Experience with ASTM and crush test destruction
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Detail-oriented with a willingness to identify field and factory issues
  • Ability to travel with minimal notice
  • Experience in manufacturing floor techniques for quality control

Work Environment

The position is based in a new office located at 2200 Bowline Ave, Nashville, TN. The work environment is dynamic, supporting a leading role in the energy transition with a comprehensive portfolio of intelligent solar tracker and software solutions for solar power plants.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $44.57 - $60.10/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
