Structural Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Structural Engineer to join our team in a role that involves drafting and designing structural projects. The ideal candidate will hold a Structural Engineering Degree and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will work closely with our project management team to support owners, associations, and developers in legal actions related to construction quality.

Responsibilities

• Travel to job sites across New Jersey to conduct thorough site surveys and inspections.
• Work under the direction of a Project Manager to inspect beams, draw sketches, and create detailed drawings.
• Participate in site walkthroughs with Project Engineers and Inspectors to determine drafting requirements.
• Write comprehensive reports and assist engineers in developing repair plans and specifications.
• Collaborate with Professional Engineers and Licensed Architects to build legal cases against contractors.
• Use AutoCAD to draft and design drawings for future construction based on original plans.
• Utilize Bluebeam to accurately enter and manage project information.

Essential Skills

• Structural Engineering Degree
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in drafting and designing structural projects
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Structural Engineer

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in site analysis report writing
• Background in building-related engineering
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam
• Ability to work independently with clients
• Understanding of construction site dynamics and ability to communicate effectively with contractors

Work Environment

Our work environment is a modern design studio hosting a team of over 10 professionals. We use the latest versions of Revit and AutoCAD in a relaxed, team-oriented atmosphere. Employees enjoy a variety of leisure activities, including Xbox, ping pong, and Friday BBQs. Despite our laid-back culture, we maintain a strong focus on meeting deadlines and achieving high-quality outcomes. Office hours are from 8-5, with some evening meetings for senior engineers. Teamwork is essential, and flexibility with work-from-home options is available. Employees receive a laptop and a cellphone to support a healthy work-life balance. Job sites include the Gold Coast (Hudson County), Secaucus, Princeton/Plainsboro, and Long Branch/Asbury Park.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.86/hr.
