Stress Engineer
We are seeking a dedicated Stress Engineer to join our team, focusing on laying out structural load paths for early conceptual designs to meet high-level requirements. This role is integral to ensuring the structural integrity and efficiency of our projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop structural load paths for early conceptual designs to meet high-level requirements.
- Apply first principle approaches with a solid understanding of metallic and composite structures.
- Execute trade studies to evaluate design solutions and select the most weight-efficient concepts that meet requirements.
- Collaborate in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, working closely with design, fabrication, assembly, and other key functions.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Catia V5 and above.
- Experience in stress and structural analysis, including finite element analysis (FEM).
- Expertise in damage tolerance and static analysis.
- Experience with Boeing and OEM tools.
- Knowledge of primary structures and materials such as metallics, composites, GFEM, and DFEM.
- Experience in mechanical engineering and aerospace.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with conceptual design first principles analysis approaches for primary composite structures.
- Familiarity with various composite structures' failure modes and limitations.
- Experience in creating and managing Global Finite Element Models (GFEM) for team use.
- Ability to create and execute Detail Finite Element Models (DFEM).
- Skills in developing simple working FEMs for conceptual design work to validate design principles.
Work Environment
This is a long-term contract role for at least 18 months, supporting defense programs for an aerospace client. The position requires working onsite from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The work environment is collaborative, requiring close interaction with various departments to achieve project goals.

This is a Contract position based out of Wichita, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $95.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
