Staff Software Engineer

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enforcing best coding practices and advocating for continuous improvement. Your efforts will be directed towards developing tools and templates for process improvements and scaling the platform to handle a significantly increased load while ensuring 100% uptime in the coming years.

Responsibilities

• Enforce best coding practices across projects.
• Advocate for continuous improvement in coding and development processes.
• Develop tools and templates to streamline process improvements.
• Scale the platform to manage 1,000 times the current load while maintaining 100% uptime.
• Demonstrate expertise in microservices and API development.
• Utilize and integrate technologies such as JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, and Golang.

Essential Skills

• Over 10 years of full software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience at the staff engineer level or higher.
• Mastery of SDLC, SOLID principles, TDD/BDD, and clean code/architecture.
• 5-8+ years of experience with GoLang, GraphQL, gRPC, JavaScript, microservices, and NoSQL.
• 5-8+ years of applying cloud development patterns and best practices.
• Proficiency in cloud-based architecture and automated release pipelines (7+ years).
• 5-8+ years of API-first approach expertise with loosely coupled systems and domain-driven design.
• Experience in managing and planning technical debt.
• Strong focus on quality code and various testing approaches.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Golang is a nice-to-have but Java is a must if Golang is not present.
• Javascript is nice-to-have or must have Golang.
• Microservices expertise.
• API expertise.

Work Environment

The position requires you to be in the office for 4 days a week, with 1 day working from home. The work-from-home day is flexible, depending on office presence and project load. While there is no additional flexibility currently, employees can choose their preferred work-from-home day. This is a Permanent position based out of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $165000.00/yr.
