Software And Hardware Senior Engineering Specialist

In this role, you will review and assess supplier's airborne software and electronic hardware designs to ensure they meet technical and regulatory requirements. This includes participating in design reviews, performing audits, and leading the resolution of technical deficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Participate in preliminary and critical system design reviews.
• Review and assess supplier's airborne software and electronic hardware certification plans.
• Review and assess supplier's airborne software and electronic (FPGA, ASIC, PLD) designs.
• Perform technical and process audits at supplier's facilities.
• Conduct safety of flight reviews.
• Assess software and hardware test results and analyses to determine compliance status.
• Lead the resolution of safety, compliance, or technical deficiencies with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Prepare and/or review design compliance reports.
• Contribute to the evolution of the Software and Electronics domain roadmap.
• Mentor less experienced professionals.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 10 years experience in the aerospace industry.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in hardware.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with DO-254
• Thorough working knowledge of airborne software and electronic hardware guidance and Means of Compliance.
• Experience in FPGA or ASIC development and/or embedded software development for aerospace.
• Knowledge of RTCA DO-178B/C, DO-248B/C, DO-254, DO-330.
• Understanding of EASA CM-SWCEH-002 and CM-SWCEH-001.
• Familiarity with FAA AC 20-115D, AC 20-152A, and FAA Order 8110.49A.
• Knowledge of requirements capture environments like DOORS or JAMA.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position - 2 days on site

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00/hr.
