Software Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to perform full life-cycle software development. The role includes designing system and software solutions that support implementation, integration, acceptance testing, and deployment. The position requires a focus on supporting a large-scale global aviation network infrastructure, emphasizing performance, redundancy, high availability, security, and maintainability.
Responsibilities:
- Develop software for air-ground/ground-ground communication, positional data processing, transport/routing/link layer protocols, radio interfaces, hardware/OS customization, and remote deployment capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with technical management, system engineering, performance network engineering, system acceptance, and field operation teams.
- Provide support for product deployment, field monitoring, troubleshooting, and operator training.
- Participate in lab/field integration and industry activities with avionics vendors, Satellite Service Providers, and Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) from the US and Europe.
- Operate within a mature ISO/SEI CMMI compliant process to produce all work products.
- Support project leadership, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure activities.
- Lead projects as necessary.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in C++, C, Python, and Object-Oriented Design.
- Experience with Linux, RHEL, and network protocols such as TCP/IP.
- Understanding of high availability and security in software systems.
- Minimum of five years of experience in data communication or embedded system software development.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in system programming or system development.
- Familiarity with communication systems and radio interfaces.
- Project lead experience for those with over seven years of experience.
- Experience using disciplined development processes in a team environment.

Job Type & Location:
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Annapolis, Maryland.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $145000.00/hr.
