Senior Protection And Control Engineer

As a Senior Protection and Control Engineer, you will be responsible for performing protection and control design on various substation projects. You will collaborate closely with the project team throughout the design and construction phases, ensuring that protection and control plans are aligned with budget limitations, design requirements, and client needs. This role is ideal for candidates with a robust background in protection and control design.

Responsibilities

• Perform protection and control design for substation projects.
• Collaborate with the project team during design and construction phases.
• Adjust protection and control plans to meet budget and design requirements.
• Ensure alignment with client needs.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support.

Essential Skills

• Electrical Engineer degree (ABET Accredited).
• 7+ years of experience in protection & controls design for substations.
• Experience with high voltage (35kV or greater, transmission level experience is key).
• EIT certification; PE preferred or on track to obtain PE.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with data center projects is beneficial.
• Experience in mentoring junior engineers.

Work Environment

The position is primarily office-based with approximately 15% travel to project sites. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and will be part of a team that values collaboration and professional growth. The company offers an ESOP program and a generous bonus structure.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alpharetta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $155000.00 - $230000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
