Senior Engineering Technician
As a Senior Engineering Technician, you will play a crucial role in building, assembling, and modifying electro-mechanical prototypes for new product development programs. You will perform electrical and electro-mechanical troubleshooting at the system and component level using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes and multimeters. Your role includes supporting prototype testing, validation, and verification activities, and assisting with pilot production builds as products transition to manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Build, assemble, and modify electro-mechanical prototypes for new product development programs.
- Perform electrical and electro-mechanical troubleshooting at the system and component level using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Support prototype testing, validation, and verification activities, including executing and documenting test plans.
- Assist with pilot production builds in the San Diego facility as products move toward manufacturing.
- Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic/electro-pneumatic systems, including pneumatic assembly and fault isolation.
- Work from electrical schematics, diagrams, and engineering documentation to support test and development efforts.
- Write, edit, and redline test plans, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to identify issues, recommend fixes, and implement improvements.
- Maintain a safe and organized lab and prototype environment.
- Provide input on tooling, fixtures, and test equipment as needed.
Essential Skills
- Strong electrical troubleshooting experience using standard lab instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, etc.).
- Hands-on experience supporting electro-mechanical or electrical prototypes in an NPD or engineering environment.
- Familiarity with pneumatic and electro-pneumatic systems, including assembly and troubleshooting.
- Experience creating, updating, or redlining test plans and technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively support engineering teams.
- Comfortable supporting fast-paced development schedules and shifting priorities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 4–6+ years of hands-on engineering technician experience.
- Associate's degree preferred (or equivalent technical experience).
- Experience reviewing electrical schematics and documentation using Altium or similar drafting tools.
- Ability to export or translate schematics into PDF or Word documentation.
- Component-level troubleshooting experience (helpful, but not required).
Work Environment
This is an onsite role located in a manufacturing and engineering lab environment. The position involves frequent hands-on work with electrical systems, moving mechanical parts, and prototype equipment. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance may be required. You will be exposed to electrical hazards and manufacturing equipment, with appropriate safety training provided.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
