Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) to support power system design and provide technical oversight for industrial and energy projects. This role involves reviewing, checking, and stamping electrical work produced by mid- and junior-level engineers while serving as a technical mentor and subject matter expert. The engineer will be responsible for power system analysis, medium-voltage design, equipment specification, and ensuring compliance with NEC and NFPA standards. Collaboration with multi-discipline teams is essential, supporting projects across energy, oil & gas, renewables, and industrial facilities. This position is 100% remote within the U.S. with up to 20% travel, with a preference for candidates aligned to the Mountain Time Zone.

Responsibilities

  • Review, check, and stamp electrical work from mid- and junior-level engineers.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and subject matter expert.
  • Conduct power system analysis and medium-voltage design.
  • Specify equipment and ensure compliance with NEC and NFPA standards.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline teams across various sectors including energy, oil & gas, renewables, and industrial facilities.
  • Support projects and provide technical oversight.

Essential Skills

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Experience in electrical engineering with 10–15+ years (flexible based on PE depth).
  • Proficiency in power system analysis and medium-voltage systems (4.16 kV+).
  • Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E standards.
  • Experience with electrical safety practices.
  • Familiarity with ETAP or SKM.
  • Skills in short circuit analysis, load flow analysis, voltage drop, and grounding design.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with protective device coordination, harmonics studies, UPS systems, DC power systems, substation design, and lighting photometrics.
  • Experience in oil and gas, midstream, upstream, or heavy industrial projects is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for technical feedback and remote collaboration.
  • Experience in mentoring and reviewing work of other engineers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $190000.00/yr.
