Security Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Monitor, triage, and investigate security threats across systems and networks.
• Continuously improve cybersecurity detection and response operations.
• Contribute to the development of Security Operations knowledge base materials, including playbooks and runbooks.
• Track and report on Security Operations KPIs.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for incident response and escalations.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in a Security Operations program.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and Cloud Security.
• Experience triaging and investigating cybersecurity alerts.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR, and log analysis.
• Strong Python programming.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with SIEM correlation rule tuning and lifecycle management.
• Ability to conduct training and mentoring for Security Operations and Incident Response.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code.
• Metrics and data analytics experience.
• Experience aligning Security Operations with industry standards such as NIST, SOC2, and ISO.

Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of working 100% remotely, although preference is given to candidates who can sit in our Pittsburgh office. Join a team dedicated to building, testing, and maintaining threat detection controls. The work environment is dynamic and supportive, providing opportunities for growth and learning in a mature Security Operations program.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
