Sales Engineer

This role involves working directly with end-users and company representatives to review applications for bulk material conveyance. You will be responsible for producing equipment designs and pricing that meet customer-specific requirements. Additionally, you will utilize sales skills to promote the company's core products and services to existing and potential new customers, aiming for year-on-year sales growth. You will also develop and follow a sales plan targeting engineering firms, large end-users, and key accounts to increase awareness of the company's products and acquire new customers.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with clients and provide technical expertise to understand their unique needs and challenges with mechanical systems.
  • Provide onsite application recommendations and support equipment start-up when requested.
  • Develop and propose customized mechanical solutions by leveraging engineering knowledge to align products with client specifications, performance expectations, and budgets.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed technical proposals and quotes that clearly explain the benefits of proposed solutions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for new products and market growth.
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities and work towards meeting or exceeding sales targets to drive revenue growth.
  • Plan monthly travel to work with company representatives, call on end-users to prospect new business, and collaborate with Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) firms on specific project opportunities.
  • Work with internal teams, including production and other sales personnel, to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor the status of all quotations generated by the company and contact buyers, engineers, and company representatives to determine the quotation status, project timing, and promote advantages over competitors.

Essential Skills

  • Sales experience in manufacturing products.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a preference for engineering experience.
  • Experience working with customers to develop solutions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in technical sales, customer relationship management, estimating, and working with conveyor systems.

Work Environment

The role is based in the office of a manufacturing facility, with occasional travel to customer sites. You will be working on a team of five, including drafters and estimators. This position offers the opportunity to grow and lead sales initiatives with both established and new customers.

This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Joseph, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
