Rust Software Engineer – Cryptography & Blockchain
We're seeking a skilled Rust developer to join a specialized team. This role involves designing and implementing secure software components using Rust, with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and cutting-edge cryptographic techniques.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain cryptographic libraries and protocols using Rust.
- Develop secure and efficient code for systems involving encryption, digital signatures, zero-knowledge proofs, and secure multi-party computation.
- Optimize software for performance and scalability in constrained environments.
- Collaborate with engineers and researchers to integrate cryptographic primitives into broader platforms such as privacy-preserving applications and secure communication tools.
- Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and uphold secure coding standards.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to cryptographic logic and system behavior.
- Stay informed on the latest developments in cryptography and the Rust ecosystem.
- Contribute to system architecture and API documentation.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure seamless deployment of cryptographic components.
What You Bring
- A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Cryptography, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of professional software development, including 2+ years of Rust programming.
- Deep understanding of cryptographic principles: symmetric/asymmetric encryption, hash functions, digital signatures, zero-knowledge proofs.
- Strong systems programming skills: memory management, concurrency, and low-level optimization.
- Experience with cryptographic libraries such as OpenSSL, libsodium, or Rust-native options like ring or rust-crypto.
- Familiarity with secure development practices and threat mitigation.
- Exposure to blockchain technologies or distributed systems is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Bonus Points
- Experience with formal verification or cryptographic testing.
- Familiarity with Rust tooling and frameworks (e.g., Cargo, Tokio, Actix).
- Knowledge of post-quantum or quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms.
- Contributions to open-source projects in Rust or cryptography.
- Performance profiling and optimization experience in Rust.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $200000.00/yr. Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.

This is a fully onsite position in Santa Clara, CA.
