Electrical Design Engineer

Join a team of skilled engineers working on innovative projects that involve modifications to existing power generation facilities and plant electrical systems. This role focuses on serving leading energy providers and requires participation in the design, preparation, and integration of major electrical power equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and integration of major electrical power equipment.
  • Prepare engineering calculations and design electrical control circuits.
  • Conduct tests and research to solve technical problems using various sources of information.
  • Design or modify components and determine the intent of specifications or instructions.
  • Make recommendations on the acceptability of supplied materials and completed contractor work.
  • Provide support to engineering teams across multiple client projects.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
  • 4 to 7 years of practical work experience in electrical engineering.
  • Experience in nuclear energy is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in electrical design, design calculations, and problem-solving.
  • Experience with physical security systems (cameras, fencing, IDS, microwave/infrared) and INC knowledge, including plant systems, urban control, CPC, TCS, and PPC.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Fire Detective System, Digital Upgrade System, Reactor water clean-up systems, Radiation monitoring system, Diesel main transformer systems, and Turbine generator system is beneficial.

This position is fully remote, and candidates must be located in the Eastern Standard Time (EST) or Central Time (CT) zones. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.
