R&D Engineer II

This R&D role involves assisting in the development of the second-generation Carpal Tunnel Device planned for launch in Q1 of 2024. You will work alongside a lead engineer to ensure accurate and efficient results, focusing on design verification through tensile testing, compression testing, materials testing, and prototype testing, along with documenting these findings.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct design verification through tensile, compression, materials, and prototype testing.
  • Document test results and findings.
  • Engage hands-on with prototypes and contribute to continuous improvement using 3D printing.
  • Assist in other departments as needed, including line validation and supply chain.
  • Work mainly in the R&D lab, utilizing welding and microscopes.
  • Author documents and continuous improvement reports.

Essential Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in medical device testing and prototyping.
  • Experience in validation documentation and design verification.
  • Proficiency in mechanical engineering and Solidworks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with 3D printing, tensile testing, Keyence, microscopes, welding, and molding.
  • Familiarity with line validation and balloon technologies.

Work Environment:

The work environment is fully on-site within an R&D lab equipped with test equipment. The role offers the opportunity to be hands-on with a new medical device design, contributing significantly to its development. The company is on a strong growth trajectory, with plans to bring manufacturing in-house by 2025.

Job Type & Location:

This is a contract position based out of Eagan, MN.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
