Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer, you will support activities to ensure the quality of completed vehicles and supplied parts. You will develop quality standards and inspection plans, confirming their execution by both manufacturing and suppliers. Additionally, you will monitor group KPIs, identify and resolve issues using the Floor Management Development System (FMDS), and support new model vehicle development in collaboration with design and manufacturing teams, ensuring adherence to the Operation Plan (OP).

Responsibilities:

  • Support the deployment of the Quality Hoshin, a management-led strategic planning initiative.
  • Lead or support countermeasure activities for quality problems across departments.
  • Manage change points with suppliers, manufacturing, and design within your assigned area of responsibility.
  • Facilitate and manage vehicle assurance strategies, including UIN, water leak, door close, and emissions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality control.
  • Participate in new model launches and supplier quality management.

Essential Skills:

  • 1+ years of experience in automotive quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently resolve complex quality problems, including product and process issues.
  • Quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with KPI-based management and/or Operation Plan milestone management.
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally for up to 15% of the time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Quality Engineer Certifications and/or Quality Auditor Certifications (Process/Systems), such as CQE or similar.
  • Experience in creating and updating strategies for training, new model introduction, and new technology.
  • Experience with cost and budget planning and approval.
  • Experience leading the development of vehicle or product quality assurance strategies.
  • Experience leading a team for cross-departmental or cross-functional goals.
  • Experience with new model or product development phases.

Work Environment:

The position is based at the largest facility in North America, with a workforce of 10,000 people. You will spend 50% of your time on the manufacturing floor, which can be loud and hot depending on the season, and the other 50% at your desk in an open cubicle area. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn on the manufacturing floor at all times. The facility offers a training building where you can take additional courses and learn new skills. You will receive two weeks of paid time off, two weeks of paid shutdown, and nine paid holidays annually.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
