Quality Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to collaborate closely with our current Quality Manager in the development of a comprehensive Quality System. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, mechanically inclined professional with over five years of experience in the field. Responsibilities include conducting First Article Inspections (FAI), managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), performing root cause analysis, and handling supplier approvals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in resolving quality issues related to high-temperature stator components and new supplier development.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and casting suppliers to address high scrap rates due to pressure leaks and work on reimbursement and savings strategies.
  • Ensure incoming parts and pump markings for private labels comply with purchase order requirements and support supplier NCRs and root cause corrective actions.
  • Review and ensure completeness and compliance of First Article Inspections from suppliers.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure accurate quality documentation and demonstrate process capability.
  • Track, validate, and close supplier corrective actions using methodologies such as 8D and 5-Whys.
  • Ensure quality records, control plans, and Production Part Approval Process meet internal and industry standards.
  • Manage NCRs by coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely closure and resolution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing departments.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with Non-Conformance Reports and Systems
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Hands-on experience with First Article Inspections
  • Supplier quality management and approval processes
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Experience in quality systems management

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Material Review Boards
  • Proficient in Pump Engineering
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills

Work Environment

The role is based onsite, with a casual culture and dress code. Most employees opt for comfortable attire such as jeans and sweatshirts.

This is a Permanent position based out of New Haven, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $89000.00 - $95000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
