Quality Engineer
As a Supplier Technical Assistance Engineer, you will represent our client at their manufacturing plants. You will take a leadership role within the company and with suppliers regarding product launch and current model quality and capacity. You will be empowered to make quality decisions on behalf of the company and authorize legal documents such as the Part Submission Warrant.
Responsibilities
- Lead and represent the company at manufacturing plants.
- Make quality decisions and authorize legal documents like the Part Submission Warrant.
- Collaborate with suppliers on product launch and current model quality.
- Implement quality systems and continuous improvement processes.
- Engage in problem-solving and root cause analysis.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Systems/Processes (e.g., IATF), Continuous Improvement, or Lean in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of AIAG APQP and PPAP processes.
- Experience in manufacturing, program management, and basic computer skills.
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse individuals, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred experience in manufacturing processes such as Molding, Coating/Painting, and Assembly.
- Preferred commodity experience in areas like Exterior Lighting, Mechanisms, or other relevant fields.
- Preferred problem-solving skills such as Green Belt / Black Belt, Red X, etc.
- Supplier Quality Experience.
Work Environment
This position requires being onsite 5 days per week. The role will involve interaction with diverse teams and demands effective communication and leadership skills. Safety training and adherence to personal protection requirements are essential.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Dearborn, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.30 - $46.00/hr.
