Quality Engineer
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join our team at an FAA 14 CFR Part 21 and Part 145 repair station. Our products include lap belts, multi-point safety restraints, and airbag systems for aircraft. The Quality Engineer will work in our repair station, managing documentation and data related to the repair and overhaul of equipment.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain and manage ISO/AS9100 quality documentation and FAA 14 CFR Part 21 and Part 145 quality system documentation.
- Act as the main point of contact for customer auditors and regulatory agencies, and schedule on-site quality audits.
- Manage a large volume of quality system data, including operational performance data and quality management system documents, coordinating revisions as necessary.
- Coordinate product or manufacture-related issues, provide AmSafe employee training, and participate in continuous improvement events and other improvement programs.
- Conduct training sessions and manage multiple databases for quality records.
- Coordinate procedural initiatives and support production personnel with problem resolution and customer flow-down initiatives.
Essential skills include:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an FAA Part 21 & 145 environment.
- 5 years of experience with FAA 14 CFR Part 21 and Part 145 quality system documentation.
- 5 years of experience with AS-9100 and FAA quality standards.
- 5 years of experience in Aerospace Quality Systems.
- Formal and current accreditation as an ISO/AS9100 lead auditor.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Additional skills and qualifications include:
- BS in an engineering or technical discipline preferred.
- Competence in electromechanical assemblies.
- Well-rounded experience in manufacture-related quality systems.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage and coordinate procedural initiatives.
This role operates in both an office and manufacturing environment, spending time in the FAA repair station and quality labs, including metrology. This position is 100% onsite. The company operates as a small entity with less than 200 employees, offering a close-knit culture with the backing and resources of a larger international organization. There is a strong emphasis on internal promotion, encouraging career growth up to two levels beyond the current position.
This is a permanent position based out of Phoenix, Arizona. The pay range for this position is $80,000.00 - $105,000.00/yr.
This is a fully onsite position in Phoenix, AZ. This position is anticipated to close on Oct 28, 2025.
