Quality Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to oversee and ensure the highest standards of quality in our projects. This role involves reviewing, managing, and filing quality documentation and supporting Inspection Test Plans (ITPs). The successful candidate will handle Non-Conformance Reports, manage deviation processes, and maintain control over quality-related processes. They will compile information into History Dockets to ensure all documents, deviations, and non-conformances are accepted by customers and integrated into ITPs. Additionally, the role involves creating Inspection & Test Reports, and overseeing Quality Assurance releases to ensure tooling and documentation meet standards before shipment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop performance measurements and reporting requirements to set quality metrics for each stage of the production process.
• Analyze quality problems to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production staff to raise awareness of quality importance and train them in quality procedures.
• Support quality technicians by providing the necessary tools to control quality on the production line.
• Assist the Quality Manager in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system.
• Work with the supply chain department to ensure the quality of raw materials, components, or sub-assemblies and supporting documentation.
• Conduct audits, close out audit findings, create audit reports, and determine corrective and preventive actions.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in quality assurance and quality engineering.
• Engineering background with ASQ Quality Engineer certification being advantageous.
• Experience in the nuclear or custom automation industry.
• Competence in reviewing documents for compliance.
• Experience with W59 Structural Steel Code.
• Experience with History Dockets (Turnover Packages).
• Familiarity with TSSA Turnover or quality document turnover.
• Knowledge of quality control, ISO 9001, TSSA, CSA, W59, Non-Conformance Reports, and ITP.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Nuclear experience.
• Experience with OPG Pickering.
• Background in NDE/NDT.

Work Environment:

The position operates fully on-site with core hours from 8 AM to 4 PM, with flexibility for additional hours if desired. The role may require supplier surveillance and travel to nearby supplier locations. The main work location is within minutes of Cambridge, providing a dynamic and engaging environment. Projects involve a mix of new tooling and refurbishment, requiring material traceability and approval before processing.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Cambridge, ON.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Cambridge, ON.
