Quality Engineer
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to analyze quality performance using statistical and analytical tools. You will inspect, test, and evaluate the reliability, precision, and accuracy of processes, products, and production equipment. Your role will involve developing and establishing quality procedures and systems, ensuring process control documents adhere to set requirements, and assisting with non-conforming components.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze quality performance using statistical and analytical tools.
- Develop and establish quality procedures and systems for inspection plans.
- Ensure process control documents adhere to set requirements.
- Process non-conforming components on time.
- Participate in failure analysis and suggest corrective actions as a Material Review Board member.
- Coordinate with suppliers and customers regarding quality trends, performance, and corrective actions.
- Verify the conformance and productivity of the quality engineering system through supplier audits and surveys.
- Initiate programs to eliminate internal non-conformances.
- Collaborate with product development committees to inspect and review engineering releases.
- Review product quality aspects including planning, manufacturing methods, and process specifications.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to optimize quality and inspection documentation.
- Ensure all internal gauges and tooling are certified and maintained.
- Keep calibration records up to date.
- Collaborate with the Quality Control team to conduct the Inspector Training Program.
- Assist in manufacturing scrap performance evaluation and management.
- Support Quality Assurance objectives in Mexico.
- Contribute to the conversion of QMS to IATF16949.
Essential Skills:
- Proven knowledge of ISO 9001 and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with SAP, with Syteline experience as a bonus.
- Root cause analysis and auditing proficiency.
- Experience working with Quality Management Systems and technical writing.
- Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- IATF16949 experience is a plus.
- Ability to apply basic math using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify proper materials and supplies according to specifications.
- Dependability and ability to follow instructions.
- Initiative and ability to work independently.
- Ability to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.
Work Environment:
The role involves working both on the shop floor and in a cubicle, with varying days of meetings or shop floor activities. The Quality team consists of 7 Inspectors, each with over 15 years of experience. The Quality Engineer is expected to help with inspections when necessary and work collaboratively within the department.
Job Type & Location:
This is a Permanent position based out of Wichita, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $88000.00/yr.
