Quality Engineer
This role primarily involves extensive documentation, source inspection lists, paperwork, and reviewing part planning paperwork. The Quality Engineer will review certifications from suppliers and internal certifications, perform non-conformance tracking, and close reviews. Approximately 50% of the time will be spent on the production floor conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and document source inspections and review part planning paperwork.
- Review supplier and internal certifications.
- Track and close non-conformance reviews.
- Perform root cause analysis on the production floor.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Participate in first article reporting.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Experience in quality engineering and quality management systems.
- Familiarity with AS9100 standards and internal auditing.
- Ability to perform quality assurance and control.
- Experience with non-conforming inspections and CAPA.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Possess an engineering or technical degree, preferably BSME in mechanical, manufacturing, or aerospace.
- 3-5 years of experience as a quality engineer.
- Exposure to Material Review Board processes and non-conformance reporting.
- Proficiency in the 8D Method of Root Cause Corrective Action Reporting.
- Experience with GD&T and blueprint analysis.
- Ability to compile manufacturing documentation for quality department use and SOP development.
Work Environment
The work environment is within a medium-sized aerospace company that serves as a single source provider for critical flight safety components used in aircraft such as Sikorsky helicopters. The company values employees who take ownership of their work, are willing to wear multiple hats, demonstrate high initiative, and are eager to learn. The company employs 65-70 people, with a modest office environment and an industrial manufacturing floor. Employees receive $10 per day for lunch from Monday to Thursday, and catered meals are provided on Fridays to maintain a family-like atmosphere.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cerritos, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
