QC Analyst

The QC Analyst will support the Quality Control (QC) Lab by conducting supplemental product testing and feed sample analysis to manage an increase in sample volume effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct wet chemistry and general lab testing, including Sieve Analysis, Thin Layer Chromatography, and Loss on Drying using Vacuum Ovens.
• Document all test results in a lab notebook, adhering to GMP/GDP guidelines.
• Perform high throughput testing, conducting 12 to 16 tests per day, and manage weighing/sample preparation of materials ranging from 50mg to 1g.
• Manage sample receipt and log-in for feed analysis.
• Prepare samples for feed analysis, including grinding, weighing, and solution preparation.
• Analyze customer feed samples using HPLC, Column Chromatography, and UV-vis techniques.
• Document results following GMP guidelines and report final results to management.

Essential Skills

• Experience with GMP and quality control procedures.
• Proficiency in chemistry, particularly in wet chemistry testing.
• Ability to quickly learn and work effectively as part of both small and larger teams.
• Strong procedural adherence without attempting process improvements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS Degree in Chemistry is preferred; other science disciplines are acceptable.
• At least 6 months of QC experience in a GMP lab.
• Experience with HPLC, Column Chromatography, wet chemistry testing, and UV Analysis.
• Familiarity with basic lab equipment, glassware, and maintaining a detailed lab notebook.

Work Environment

The position operates Monday through Friday during the day shift, with flexibility to work core hours between 9 AM to 2 PM and a consistent start time between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM, completing a full 8-hour shift. Training hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The team consists of one other Analyst in the Feed Lab and a Lab Technician responsible for sample receipt and glassware washing, with potential collaboration with other QC team members totaling 20 people. Work involves handling a mix of powdered pharmaceutical products and animal feed, which may have a dusty nature and feed-like odor.

Pay and Benefits
