Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with over 7 years of experience to join our team. In this role, you will develop project objectives by reviewing proposals and plans and collaborating with management. Your expertise will be crucial in determining project specifications and responsibilities, ensuring the successful completion of technical studies, cost estimates, and product testing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project objectives by reviewing proposals and plans, and conferring with management.
  • Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, and reviewing contractor bids.
  • Study product design, customer requirements, and performance standards to determine project specifications.
  • Design and conduct tests to confirm product performance.
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
  • Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes, and recommending actions.
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and recommending actions.
  • Enforce procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations to maintain product and company reputation.
  • Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results in a timely manner.
  • Support manufacturing activities by generating definitions for parts, BOMs, and routings in the ERP system.
  • Provide engineering support to customers and the production team.
  • Create shop drawings and router layouts.
  • Ensure work order instructions and supplementary documentation are available and understood by fabrication personnel.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD/CAM software.
  • Experience in project management and CNC routing.
  • Professional engineering background with knowledge of fabrication machine shops.
  • Ability to create bill of materials and work with CNC machines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in engineering, drafting, or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in plumbing is a plus.
  • Professional and presentable demeanor for client communications via email.

Work Environment

The role involves working on projects across the US, with no travel required. You will be involved in the entire process from receiving client requests to shipping, collaborating with internal teams such as sales, procurement, and shipping. The work environment is professional, requiring the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams through email.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Somerville, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.87/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
