Project Engineer / Manager

Actalent is hiring a Project Engineer / Manager for a great small company in Portland! This is a long-term job opportunity!

The Project Manager plays a crucial role in managing both equipment design and manufacturing. In this position the Project Manager will work with customers and the internal design team to provide solutions to client needs. They'll help identify those needs, create solutions that meet client expectations, and will be responsible for executing the correct solution with support from the design team. This role requires outstanding communication, organizational, and multitasking skills, along with attention to detail and a customer-centric approach.

Essential Functions:

  • Use conceptual design skills to communicate with customers and colleagues about equipment solutions
  • Visit customer sites to review client needs in detail and inspect/evaluate existing processes
  • Work with the internal design team to complete necessary project documentation (diagrams & drawings)
  • Coordinate and manage the execution of equipment design and manufacturing of customized equipment customers
  • Work with internal team to create accurate estimates for the creation of sales proposals
  • Work with contractors, vendors, clients to successfully complete projects
  • Provide on-site supervision, as needed, during installation of equipment
  • Support the Sales team by being available for client calls and site visits to review sales opportunities identified by the sales team
  • Help with documenting existing Equipment Design Processes and Standards
  • Work with Management, Design and Sales teams to create an innovative solutions providing environment

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of equipment design and manufacturing experience
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building and maintaining positive relationships
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to accuracy
  • Ability to become proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Access, Outlook, Excel) and Equipment Design Software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing roles and responsibilities

Experience Level: Intermediate Level

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms. If eligible, the benefits available for this temporary role may include the following:
