Project Engineer

The Project Engineer will oversee the end-to-end delivery of technology projects, including direct capital project management of innovation and technology changes. This role supports day-to-day reliability activities at the factory and conducts trials for all packaging and process changes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technology, capital, innovation, capacity, and value improvement projects for the Cooking Aids & Mini Meals category.
  • Provide estimates, options assessment, plant trials, and technical support for projects.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, equipment, and safety standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Participate in establishing company-wide best practices and standards for technology changes and commissioning.
  • Act as a technical resource for the category engineering team for new products and re-stages.
  • Contribute to technology improvements for processing and packaging equipment.
  • Develop and manage checkout, testing, and start-up protocol for equipment, packaging lines, and control systems.
  • Participate in cross-plant improvement teams and develop strong partnerships with plant manufacturing, corporate engineering, and workforce.
  • Collaborate with R&D, marketing, innovation, and supply chain planning teams to drive on-time delivery of innovation and savings projects.
  • Implement new Ways of Working within the Engineering community, ensuring adherence to core values and safety standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 2+ years experience in a consumer goods industry
  • 3+ years in project engineering in a food-related industry
  • Experience in Manufacturing excellence, Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance
  • R&D Experience

Work Environment

The role involves working both in the office and on the manufacturing floor, collaborating closely with various teams to ensure project success.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Independence, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $50.00/hr.
