Project Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join a small engineering and procurement company specializing in the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will support current projects in detailed design and upcoming projects that are in feed hitting detailed design in Q1. They will be performing both technical design and coordination of various disciplines, vendor packages, and client interactions. Responsibilities include preparing bid documents, reviewing vendor packages, selecting vendors, and developing detailed design deliverables independently or using existing templates.

Responsibilities:

• Perform technical design and engineering work.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, vendors, and clients.
• Prepare bid documents, review vendor packages, and select vendors.
• Develop detailed design deliverables for basic scopes.
• Work on 2-3 projects ranging up to $40M in total installed cost, including pipelines, compressor stations, and gas plants.
• Support upcoming work in FEED, such as pipelines and compressor stations.

Essential Skills:

• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation, willing to stamp in Alberta.
• 8+ years of experience overall, primarily in project environments.
• Experience in brownfield projects.
• Strong client interfacing and communication skills.
• Background in small EPC environments.
• Experience sizing compressors, pumps, vessels, piping, and tanks.
• Mechanical or Process Engineering degree.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Knowledge of process simulation software such as Symmetry or Aspen HYSYS.
• Experience with gas processing equipment, pipelines, and power generation.
• Construction and site experience.
• Experience in tank farms and gas plants.

Work Environment:

The position is based in a downtown office with a small company feel, there are 30-40 people total. Core office hours are generally from 9-4, five days a week, with one day offering flexibility to work from home if necessary. The environment is dynamic, requiring comfort with ambiguity. Though site travel is not a requirement, the candidate should be comfortable with occasional site visits.

This is a Contract position based out of CALGARY, AB. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $90.00/hr. Workplace Type: This is a hybrid position in CALGARY, AB.
