Project Engineer

As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in planning, designing, and executing construction projects. You will collaborate with project managers to develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, and schedules. Your technical expertise will be essential in reviewing and interpreting design drawings and specifications to ensure all engineering requirements are met. You will also manage the allocation of resources, oversee quality assurance, and monitor project expenses to maintain budgetary goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers to develop project plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Assist with technical aspects of projects, including reviewing and interpreting design drawings and specifications.
  • Manage allocation of resources such as labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Oversee quality control to ensure construction work meets design standards, industry regulations, and safety codes.
  • Monitor project expenses and track costs to identify opportunities to stay within the budget.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built drawings, change orders, and construction records.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, including procurement, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Identify and address potential project risks to mitigate delays or cost overruns.
  • Facilitate effective communication between project stakeholders, including project managers, clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Address and resolve technical issues, discrepancies, and challenges encountered during construction.
  • Manage the procurement of construction materials, equipment, and services.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Work to meet project milestones and deadlines by managing the project schedule.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, budget status, and other key metrics to project managers and stakeholders.

Essential Skills

  • Project management experience.
  • Construction management expertise.
  • Experience with RFIs.
  • A two or four-year degree in an accredited engineering or construction management program.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Field Engineer, Project Coordinator, or Assistant Project Manager experience.
  • Construction industry experience or internships.
  • Detail-oriented team player with good organizational skills.
  • Competency working with a wide range of technology.

Work Environment

This position offers a flexible schedule with work-from-home opportunities. Our team operates primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area, managing commercial and industrial construction projects. We specialize in small to midsize projects and pride ourselves on delivering a best-in-class project management experience. The company culture emphasizes teamwork and a positive work environment. You will be working with top-tier clients and the Bay Area's best subcontractors. Our office is located in Mountain View, California, with a growing team of close to 50 employees.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mountain View, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $57.00/hr.
