Project Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team in executing projects for midstream clients' facilities, including compressor stations and pumping stations. This role involves project estimating, scheduling, and comprehensive project management, alongside the design and development of control system drawings, control logic, and documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Define and design control systems.
• Develop control system drawings, control logic, and documentation.
• Program PLCs and develop HMIs.
• Supervise and coordinate control system assembly and installation.
• Commission control systems.
• Create I/O lists from P&IDs and electrical drawings.
• Develop Cause & Effect matrices from I/O lists, P&IDs, and electrical drawings.
• Design and draft AutoCAD drawings based on project requirements.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in engineering, design, and commissioning.
• Proficiency in automation, PLCs, and instrumentation controls.
• Ability to perform instrumentation calibration and work with medium and low voltage systems.
• Skilled in PLC programming, wiring, and reading P&ID documents.
• Project scheduling and blueprint analysis.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• 5-10 years of experience in PLC, HMI, and relevant engineering fields (upstream, midstream, or downstream).

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Preferred: Engineering degree.
• Ability to read and interpret project documents.
• Experience with midstream pipeline facilities, such as compressor and pumping stations.
• Skills in project coordination, electrical work, RFI, and change orders.

Work Environment:

The role involves both office-based engineering support and fieldwork for verifications and client interfacing. There is a strong emphasis on collaboration across multiple departments to grow the local presence. Some travel is required, lasting 2-3 weeks at a time, 2-3 times per year.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belle Chasse, LA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
