Project Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to ensure the planning, scheduling, and coordination of all project tasks are accomplished within scope, on schedule, and on budget. This role involves resource allocation, overseeing installation and testing activities, and supporting proposal bidding activities. The ideal candidate will support the design and development of compliant, airworthy components and assemblies while ensuring technical solutions are imaginative and consistent with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate installation and testing activities conducted at customer sites and internal facilities.
- Support proposal bidding activities with the Business Development and proposal team.
- Ensure design and development of weight-optimized, compliant airworthy components and structural assemblies.
- Evaluate technical solutions for practicability and consistency with organizational objectives.
- Mentor technical staff and provide performance and technical guidance.
- Prepare and review project status reports, engineering, and airworthiness control documentation.
- Select project team members in consultation with engineers and managers.
- Coordinate technical interchanges with customers and external vendors.
- Act as a liaison between Engineering and the Manufacturing and Programs Departments.
- Oversee project launches and convene design reviews and coordination meetings.
Essential Skills
- Minimum education of Technologist's diploma in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent credentials.
- 10 to 20 years of direct engineering design experience in the aerospace industry with project ownership and leadership.
- Ability to plan and organize time efficiently while managing multiple demands.
- Supervision experience to maintain schedule, cost, scope, and discipline.
- Proficiency in project management principles and software.
- Experience managing external vendors of design and manufacturing services.
- Technical report writing skills with fluency in English.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams.
- Experience in structural analysis of aircraft structural and mechanical components.
- Knowledge of regulatory (FAA and/or military) issues related to aircraft design and analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor or advanced degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Business management diploma, project management certificate, or equivalent credentials.
- 5 years' experience with CAD Software, preferably SOLIDWORKS.
- Understanding of drafting standards (ASME Y14.100).
- Experience with government regulations (US Military or FAA).
- Experience testing aerospace components/assemblies.
- Design experience with electronic, avionic, electromechanical, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, forming, finishing, and rapid prototyping.
- Experience using inspection tooling such as micrometers and computerized measurement machines.
Work Environment
The position requires onsite work from Monday to Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brooksville, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140.00 - $150.00/hr.
