Project Engineer
The role involves designing application drawings for products using CAD (2D and 3D) systems, generating production drawings for both in-house and subcontracted shops, and managing the mechanical portion of projects from start to finish. You will create, control, and maintain order release packages and design files while traveling up to 50% of the time for presentations, audits, and startup support at mill sites. Establishing and fostering customer relations through on-site measure-ups and virtual communications is also essential. Technical calculations, preparation of documentation, and participation in development projects are key aspects of this role. You will collaborate internationally with Engineering teams in Canada and Austria.
Responsibilities:
- Design application drawings for products using CAD systems.
- Generate production drawings for in-house and subcontracted shops.
- Manage the mechanical portion of projects from start to finish.
- Create, control, and maintain order release packages and design files.
- Travel up to 50% for presentations, audits, and startup support.
- Foster customer relations through on-site measure-ups and virtual communications.
- Execute technical calculations to ensure safety and integrity of components.
- Prepare technical documentation and procedures.
- Conduct product inspections and dimensional checks.
- Create communication documentation to convey design aspects to clients.
- Collaborate internationally with Engineering teams in Canada and Austria.
- Participate in development projects and prototype design.
- Perform other duties as identified by company leadership.
Essential Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering.
- Advanced skills in mechanical design and engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAD, 2D, and 3D design.
- Ability to perform technically challenging tasks without supervision.
- Experience in process improvement and process engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience.
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets.
Work Environment:
- This position requires up to 50% travel, including potential travel to Austria for training.
- Travel is mainly during the workweek, with trips varying in length.
- The role is 100% onsite and involves collaboration with facilities in Austria and Canada.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $100000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
