Product Quality Engineer
We are seeking a dynamic Product Quality Engineer who is ready to hit the ground running with experience in avionics and wire harnesses. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in a manufacturing facility and can identify gaps and opportunities for improvement, effectively communicating these insights to internal teams. The position requires a blend of technical acumen and excellent communication skills to bridge various departments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct root cause analysis and utilize 5 Whys methodology to identify areas for improvement.
- Apply IPC knowledge and ensure certification is maintained.
- Work closely in a manufacturing environment, focusing on quality engineering tasks.
- Lead design reviews and manage quality for PCBA, harnessing, mechanical structures, and systems integration.
- Drive product quality and performance requirements to test and measurement system development.
- Transition products from engineering qualification to manufacturing variance testing.
- Utilize product development methodologies such as FMEA, APQP, and PPAP.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, quality clauses, and statements of work.
- Engage in Configuration Management and Document Control processes.
- Communicate effectively with operators and experts to gather on-floor insights and prepare metrics and reports.
Essential Skills
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or quality in defense or similar hardware.
- Proficiency in design review and quality management of various systems including PCBA and harnessing.
- Knowledge of product development methodologies like FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and GD&T.
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand quality clauses.
- Experience in mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with Configuration Management and Document Control.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, MES, and SAP.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements.
- Experience with IPC standards, ESD, and FOD prevention.
- Familiarity with government contracts and military standard requirements.
- Experience with software packages such as Teamcenter, SolidWorks, Jira, NetSuite, NX, and Oracle.
- Understanding of aerospace or automotive industry drawing standards.
Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite with flexible shift options: 1st shift running Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3 pm, and an alternating 2nd shift from Monday to Thursday, 3:30 pm to 2 am. The role involves 75% on the manufacturing floor and 25% desk work, requiring hands-on engagement with production processes and active problem-solving.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
