Are you ready to take on a technical leadership position that bridges the gap between management and junior engineering staff? This mid-level role combines process engineering expertise with project management responsibilities, offering a clear path to leadership for those who want to grow their career.
You'll work on complex wastewater and industrial projects (75% wastewater, 25% industrial), mentor junior engineers, and lead select projects independently—all while applying your technical skills in Civil 3D, process design, and QA/QC oversight.
Design & Technical Leadership: Apply process and civil engineering principles to wastewater treatment and industrial utility projects. Prepare layout plans, specifications, and ensure QA/QC compliance. Support permitting and regulatory requirements.
Mentorship & Management: Manage and mentor 1–3 junior staff members. Act as a middle manager between leadership and project teams. Project Delivery: Lead select projects independently, reporting to management. Conduct site visits a couple of times per month (mostly Southern California).
Technical Skills: Strong experience in process engineering and civil design. Proficiency in Civil 3D and familiarity with P&ID software. Ability to support CAD tasks and ensure technical accuracy. Experience: Typically 3–7 years in process/civil engineering roles. PE license preferred (or on track to obtain). Attributes for Success: Effective communicator and mentor. Interest in business development for future growth (not required, but a plus). Comfortable with occasional fieldwork and short travel.
Nice-to-Have Skills: BIM interaction experience. Hydraulic modeling knowledge. Regulatory permitting expertise. Industrial project experience (laundries, food plants, etc.).

Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of Orange, CA. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $130,000.00 - $150,000.00/yr.
