Process Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to develop robust injection molding processes using scientific molding techniques. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various teams to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in process execution, while maintaining rigorous documentation and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop robust injection molding processes utilizing scientific molding techniques such as gate freeze analysis and short shot analysis.
- Maintain engineering files with documents including DOE reports, process sheets, and water diagrams.
- Collaborate with the quality group to validate injection molding processes using sound statistical methods.
- Lead continuous improvement projects.
- Perform failure investigations utilizing problem-solving techniques and statistical methods to identify root causes and enact corrective actions.
- Author and execute test and validation protocols to comply with ISO and FDA medical device regulation requirements.
- Verify documents are correctly filled out prior to set-up sign-off.
- Provide training and coaching to peers and Process Technicians.
- Maintain and promote a safe and clean working environment.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures and guidelines as outlined in the company safety manual.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Essential Skills:
- Experience with molding machines, tooling, and plastics injection molding.
- Proficiency in scientific injection molding techniques such as IQ, OQ, PQ.
- Strong troubleshooting and process engineering skills.
- Experience in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Injection Molding.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with IQ, OQ, PQ.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with validations and documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Understanding of statistical methods for process validation.
- Ability to lead projects and mentor team members.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
Job Type & Location:
This is a Contract position based out of Saint Paul, MN.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
