Process Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Process Specialist to support day-to-day manufacturing operations and provide technical leadership across both the ink and varnish production areas. This is a floor-based role, ideal for someone who thrives in an active production environment and engages directly with equipment, materials, and personnel. The role is based in Springfield, VA, follows a standard day shift schedule, and requires flexibility to meet production needs. It offers exposure to both technical and supervisory responsibilities, making it an excellent stepping stone for future leadership roles within manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

• Support day-to-day manufacturing operations.
• Provide technical leadership in ink and varnish production areas.
• Engage directly with equipment, materials, and personnel.
• Strengthen internal bench for supervisory backup coverage.
• Collaborate closely with Production Supervisors and Technical Teams.

Essential Skills:

• SAP knowledge or similar platform.
• Troubleshooting and installation experience.
• US Citizenship.
• Strong technical and analytical aptitude.
• Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) certification is a plus.
• Formal training in Root Cause Analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, or FMEA) is beneficial.
• Engineering degree preferred but not required.
• Mechanical experience preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with batch manufacturing environments.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a dynamic and active production floor located in Springfield, VA. The plant operates from 5 AM to 8 PM, allowing for flexible core working hours. This role is not desk-bound and requires hands-on involvement in production support and continuous improvement initiatives. Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, VA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
