Power Electronics Engineer

As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will transform theoretical concepts into practical power conversion products, providing technical leadership in this innovative domain.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop state-of-the-art power converters.
- Lead the development of new power conversion products from concept to reality.
- Design, troubleshoot, and validate active power converters and motor control products for aerospace applications, focusing on 115VAC, 400 Hz to 28-800VDC, 1kW-20kW, 1 and 3-phase systems.
- Design and troubleshoot DC-DC power converters ranging from 0.8V to 800V and 100W to 20kW.
- Develop schematics and oversee PCB layouts.
- Engage in system integration to create specifications and develop test scenarios.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in power electronics and hardware design.
- Experience in power system engineering and DC-DC conversion.
- Knowledge of ZCS converters and military standards.
- Proficiency in PCB design using software like OrCAD and PlsCADD.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of three years related experience, or a relevant degree with five years of related work experience.
- Experience with DFX and aerospace standards (e.g., DO160).
- Visionary mindset with a long-term focus on team and organizational success.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and influence others.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities.
The position is based in an office and manufacturing site, within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment that can be demanding. The engineering team consists of 32 members, with multiple openings due to growth from winning new contracts.
The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $185000.00/yr.
