Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

1. Perform blood draws and other specimen collections with precision.
2. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
3. Ensure accuracy by matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
4. Package and store specimens according to required temperatures and protocols.
5. Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
6. Attend annual department trainings and maintain up-to-date knowledge.
7. Respond to inquiries by answering telephone calls and reading laboratory results.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 6 months of experience in phlebotomy, preferably in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency in using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working in a physician clinic with multiple populations

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
